2014 - 2015 Barcelona World Race - En franchissant à 18h50 (GMT + 1) le méridien 5°37W qui marque la longitude de Tarifa, à la sortie du détroit de Gibraltar, l’équipage de Hugo Boss, inscrit un nouveau temps de référence entre Barcelone et le détroit de Gibraltar.

Alex Thomson et Pepe Ribes ont donc parcouru les 538 milles séparant Barcelone de Gibraltar en 2 jours 5h et 50mn, à la vitesse moyenne de 9,90 nœuds. Ils améliorent le précédent record détenu par Jean-Pierre Dick et Loïck Peyron en 3j 7h et 55mn d’un peu plus d’une journée.

Le tandem hispano-britannique devrait être suivi par Guillermo Altadill et José Muñoz (Neutrogena) puis Bernard Stamm et Jean le Cam (Cheminées Poujoulat) qui devraient pointer à deux heures environ du leader de la flotte. Suivra ensuite GAES Centros Auditivos (Anna Corbella et Gerard Marin).

Les autres concurrents ne sont pas attendus avant la journée de demain.
