2015 Australian O'pen Bic Cup at Sandringham YC preview

2015 Australian O'pen Bic Cup gets underway on the 18th of January for five days and will see some of the world’s top O'pen Bic sailors competing on the waters of Port Philip Bay for the 2015 Title. A fleet in excess of Eighty boats will see current and past World Champions come head to head competing in this very exciting junior/youth dinghy off Sandringham Yacht Club.


After a very successful Australian Team campaign in Germany in July where local Sandringham-Parkdale sailor Jack Challands was crowned U13 World Champion and Queenslander Kristen Wadley was crowned U16 Female World Champion they will have past World Champion Sean and Liam Herbert from NZ, also from the Czech Republic Veronika Zivny ,Runner up U19 in Germany and overall winner of the 2014 German O'pen Cup to sail against and some tuff local competition from Western Australia of which 25 are making the trip across.

The O'pen Bic is attracting a lot of attention where it goes especially with the New red and white Sail Color that was released earlier this year. With juniors from 8 to 16 sailing the boat the O'pen Cup caters for the race ready junior to those who want to only have a casual race with the silver fleet. The emphasis is on 'having fun'


This will be the first Australian O'pen Cup to be held in Victoria and will see plenty of locals joining the fun from Safety Beach, Torquay, Warnanbool to name a Event website
