Supacat Group acquires BUKH Diesel UK

by Supacat Group on 22 Nov 2014
Supacat
BUKH Diesel UK Ltd has been acquired by UK based design engineering firm, Supacat Group, which has signed a new distribution agreement with BUKH A/S Denmark, creating a new sales and customer support service for the UK and Ireland marine engine market.

The agreement was signed today by Søren Christiansen, Chief Executive Officer of BUKH A/S, and Nick Ames, Managing Director of Supacat Group Ltd at the Marine Equipment Trade Show, Amsterdam.

Under the new agreement BUKH Diesel UK Ltd will for the first time offer a comprehensive customer support service, providing sales, spares, maintenance and training for BUKH A/S’s full range of SOLAS approved engines and other products designed for the commercial and pleasure boat market. Their scope and reliability have made BUKH A/S a world leading supplier in the life boat market.

Supacat Group brings to BUKH Diesel UK expertise in sales and managing through-life support for customers of its own products, which will give BUKH Diesel UK the capability to support the maintenance requirements of the many users of BUKH A/S engines, such as cruise liners and leisure craft.

BUKH Diesel UK complements Supacat Group’s acquisition of MDS Marine earlier this year and creates a one-stop shop within Supacat Group for sales and support in the inboard and outboard propulsion market for 200HP to 500HP diesels powering utility vessels, ribs, tenders and super yachts and a range of smaller outboard motors from BUKH A/S.

BUKH Diesel UK becomes a company within the Supacat Group and will continue to operate under its own brand from its base at Poole in the South West of England alongside Supacat Group and MDS Marine, which are located in the same region.

'I am delighted that BUKH A/S has been able to conclude this Agreement with Supacat Group for the distribution of our Products in the UK and Ireland. I also welcome the acquisition of BUKH Diesel UK Ltd by Supacat. We have had a long and successful relationship with BUKH Diesel and I am sure that this will grow even stronger with the signing of this Distribution Agreement today,' said Søren Christiansen, Chief Executive Officer of BUKH A/S.

'The acquisition of BUKH Diesel UK and our new agreement with BUKH A/S marks an exciting development in the growth of our marine business. The synergies between Supacat Group and BUKH A/S provide customers with an enhanced offering and open up significant opportunities for us to establish a consistent and strong presence for BUKH in the UK and Ireland market', said Nick Ames, Managing Director of Supacat Supacat website
