Ce vendredi 14 novembre à 18 heures 38 minutes et 55 secondes, François Gabart a franchi la ligne d’arrivée de la 10e Route du Rhum - Destination Guadeloupe. Le skipper de MACIF a mis 12 jours 4 heures 38 minutes et 55 secondes pour boucler le parcours de 3 542 milles à la vitesse moyenne de 12,10 nœuds. Il a parcouru en réalité 3963 milles à 13,54 nœuds de moyenne.

François Gabart bat de 7 heures 20 minutes et 3 secondes le temps de référence des IMOCA détenu depuis 2006 par Roland Jourdain (12 jours 11 heures et 58 mn). En tête de la flotte des grands monocoques de 60 pieds depuis le cap Fréhel, le skipper de MACIF a réalisé un parcours sans faute jusqu’en Guadeloupe chassé par Jérémie Beyou (Maître Coq) son plus proche rival. Le vainqueur du dernier Vendée Globe a une fois de plus démontré qu’il était un as du placement et de la Route du Rhum
