Of 18 footers, Farr 40's and VOR65's

Awesome speed from Gotta Love It 7 - 18ft Skiffs Major A. Frizelle Trophy 2014. Australian 18 Footers League http://www.18footers.com.au
The big sailing weeks just keep rolling on. The 18 footers, Farr 40 World's and Volvo Ocean race are each showcases different aspects of our great sport.

The brilliant conditions of last week’s opening race of the season were duplicated today when the Australian 18 Footers League’s Major A. Frizelle Trophy race was sailed in a 20–knots north east wind on Sydney Harbour.

Current JJ Giltinan champion Gotta Love It 7 team of Seve Jarvin, Sam Newton and Scott Babbage showed why they are the world’s best team when they dominated the fleet to score a 3m4s victory.

Farr 40 World's finished well for the Australian teams with four Australian boats in the top 10. Well Jim Richardson has been to Oz enough times to almost be one of us, steering Kokomo.

2. Estate Master, Lisa and Martin Hill, AUS, 34.0
5. Voodoo Chile, Andrew Hunn, AUS, 45.0
6. Kokomo, Jim Richardson, AUS, 46.0
9. Transfusion, Guido Belgiorno-Nettis, AUS, 52.0

After eight days of racing Dongfeng still in first place.

A split in the fleet saw Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing, Team Brunel, Team SCA and Team Alvimedica head north, Team Vestas Wind and Mapfre go through the centre of the Cape Verde Islands and Dongfeng go south, between the east and central islands.

The teams who opted to take the north route are now heading west, and the two who went through the centre are now going south. They are expected to jibe soon.

The focus now turns to the notoriously tricky Doldrums, which the teams must pass to reach the Fernando de Noronha way point before heading south east towards Cape Town.

Team SCA, with four Australians amongst its 12 women crew has fallen off the back of the bus, after a hard week of Volvo Ocean Race sailing, but with the doldrums ahead you'd be foolish to bet against them as the latest message from the boat show their is plenty of fight in them yet.

'There’s a boat full of tough, determined, focused women right now who are hungry to sail fast and hard, using every single second to perform at 101%, and get ourselves back with the rest of the fleet—and nothing is going to stop us until we do. '

For the love of small, fast boats - the Cape 26
Chickens, eggs, and boats. Until now, had never, ever put that lot together! The proverbial chicken, an egg, and boats.
