TeamWork Geneva Match Race - Team Gilmour to face local experts

Eight of Europe’s best match race teams will compete in the Grade 2 TeamWork Geneva Match Race, organized by Société Nautique de Genève with the support of local partner TeamWork.

Recently third in the fifth stage of the Alpari World Match Racing Tour, the Dutch Match Cup, Team Gilmour is undoubtedly one of the event’s favorites. 'In our view, they will be the team to beat, although they don’t know the venue nor the type of boats used for this event,' says local hero Eric Monnin, skipper of Team Okalys Corum. 'But there are many other good teams, including Antti Luhta, from Finland, or Frenchman Arthur Herreman. I will keep an eye on the latter: he is a young up and coming talent and he has obtained excellent results this year.'

Ranked eleventh in the ISAF World Rankings, Eric Monnin won in 2014 the prestigious Knickerbrockers Cup in New York; he finished vice-European champion in Poland and won the Swiss champion title. He will sail with Yannick Brauchli and Romuald Hausser, who are usually competing in the 470 class and finished 16th in the Olympic Games 2012 in London.

Six countries will be represented in the twelfth edition of TeamWork Geneva Match Race: Switzerland, France, Australia, UK, Finland and Slovenia.

The races will take place onboard one-design Surprise (7,5 Event website
