These days, twice Rolex Sailor of the Year and Olympic Gold medalist, Anna Tunnicliffe (USA) alternates between sailing aboard Alinghi in the Extreme Sailing Series, and chasing a serious ranking in the world of CrossFit.

She reports in from Nice, France after Day 3 of the Extreme Sailing Series, sailing as tactician aboard Alinghi.

October 4, 2014, Nice, France

Today was a great day for team Alinghi here in Nice on the pen-ultimate day of racing. We sailed 7 races and finished all but the last race in the top four, allowing us to climb to the top of the leaderboard. The points are still close overall, so there is still all to race for tomorrow.

The conditions were similar to yesterday although a little shifter. Towards the end of the day the wind lightened up and made the last race a little trickier, our worst of the day. But that wasn't why we didn't do well, we just had a bad start.

We came up with plan yesterday (Friday) halfway through the day and implemented it and it worked so we decided we would stick with it again today. And it worked again...so we will give it a go again tomorrow, Sunday (will elaborate more in tomorrow's blog).

The last day of racing is tomorrow. Racing begins again at 2pm. There will be live footage on the internet on the event website: www.extremesailingseries.com
