Marine Auctions expands its business to New Zealand

by Marine Auctions on 7 Oct 2014 Director of Marine Auctions and Valuations Australia, Adrian Seiffert has announced the opening of the New Zealand operation of the company, which will be headed by experienced Marine Brokers Keiran Russell and Ranald McDonald.

The well-known Australian business was originally started in Brisbane in 2004 by auctioneer veteran Adrian Seiffert, till this day it remains an integral part of the boating industry in Australia. Seiffert said, 'We are happy to announce that Marine Auctions will now be represented in New Zealand thanks to experienced marine brokers Keiran Russell and Ranald McDonald who will be heading up this endeavour.' The neighbouring business will be named Marine Auctions New Zealand (NZ) and all operations in the country will be solely run by the former expert brokers, with guidance from Australia.

Russell and McDonald bring their combined 25 years of industry knowledge and experience in marine sales, vessel management, maintenance and networking to assist their clients in marine asset buying and selling.

Director of Marine Auctions NZ, Keiran Russell says “We see that a change in the marine sales process is needed, to move away from the reactive style of the traditional marine brokerage model and into a more proactive, time critical model. The auctioning process provides this with a set-date-of-sale that attracts potential buyers in a fixed period of time. For the sellers, this speeds up the sales process and can result in multiple bidders and for the buyers, it shows that the vendors are genuine sellers and not just testing the market.”

Marine Auctions NZ will be starting off their operations with the auction of an 80’ Evolution Sports Cruiser “Crystal Blue”. This will be run as an online auction from the Marine Auctions website, with viewings available now in the Viaduct Harbour, located in Auckland, by appointment. Bidding on this boat will start on Friday November the 21st and will run till Thursday November 27th at 2pm Australian Eastern Standard Time.
