The Swan 48, Bella Nove, owned by Nick Maddalena, took the prestigious Nautor Swan trophy at Cowes Week, sporting a full inventory of Doyle Carbon/Technora Stratis sails.
Nick and his team are now off to the Swan Cup in Sardinia.
Italia, the 1987 Americas Cup 12mr, helmed by Doyle Sails' skipper Jaffa, took a very creditable third place in IRC 0 at Cowes Week, taking 2 wins and a number of top 3 places. The team sailed brilliantly in a mixture of conditions keeping the old girl in touch with the IRC optimised fleet.
Four of the top six classics were sporting Doyle Sails at this year's Europeans, be it dacron, panelled carbon, Stratis carbon or nylons, the Doyle designs were proving fast. The Doyle metre boat designs developed by Robbie and his team in Salem are showing the advantages of matching time on the water with CFD analysis and the passion for continual improvement.
