Targeting online, New Brisbane show, Superior Waterscape Monaco debut

by Jeni Bone, editor on 16 Sep 2014
The world is our oyster this week, with news from every continent - from the shows and expos, to new products, launches and of most relevance, the imperative to take your brand, message or product online to where your market is.

First up, Geolocation. We know where our readers are, and what they're up to more importantly. Targeted advertising is the best and most effective advertising you can do.

On the Aussie local scene, we can serve Queensland ads north of the Tweed and Victorian ads from Mallacoota south.

If your business is a Melbourne based chandlery, it’s a fair bet that 90% of your business is done with Victorians, so why advertise nationally? A marine company doing business Australia-wide needs to fine tune according to the calendar too. Telling the market you will be exhibiting at the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show, you may want to direct 70% of your advertising to Queensland and most of the balance to NSW and Victoria in the month ahead of that show then switch those figures around ahead of the Sydney Boat Show.

Get in touch if you're keen to reach your local market, or a global audience. In the Asia-Pacific alone, our sites can deliver in asia 300,000 unique readers each month and many millions more if you're looking for global reach.

On the local scene, fresh off the back of the 54th Brisbane Boat Show, Marine Queensland is working on the next major event - a new, on-water boating event to be situated at Manly Boat Harbour on Moreton Bay.

This new event, for March 2015, will blend the Tinnie & Tackle show with various on-water, hands-on experiences at the southern hemisphere's largest marina. What an inspired move - and one we will update you on as soon as details are available.

Next week, the world's big boat crowd will gather at that haven of glamour, Monaco, for the world's largest superyacht show. Amid the champagne receptions and under the auspices of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II, the 24th Monaco Yacht Show will proceed as a celebration of luxury, impeccable yachts and well-qualified brokers, buyers and brands.

Among them, AIMEX will lead a contingent of Australian businesses, including Superior, whose CEO, John Hogan will be using the networking events and exposure to the decision-makers in the superyacht sector to launch Waterscape, the world-first commercial and residential adaptive floating system (AFS) recently patented and launched in Australia at SCIBS.

Extending a home or venue's waterprint, Waterscape is a tantalising, LED-lit platform for any occasion, from reclining and relaxing to hosting events, VIPs, launches, diners and much more.

'Waterscape is visually arresting and innovative in its versatility,' explains Hogan. 'It adds another dimension to waterfront living and entertaining and we see a myriad of applications for yacht clubs, marina precincts, luxury homes and hotels. Anywhere there is a body of still water, Waterscape will extend the usage and enjoyment of the on-water experience.'

All the best to all our Aussie and NZ companies heading to Monaco for this year's show.

Until next week, enjoy the sunshine!
