Extreme Sailing Series 2014 Act 6 - Following four podium finishes on day three in Cardiff, team GAC Pindar are looking to continue their promising form in Istanbul, Turkey (September 11-14), the sixth Act of the Extreme Sailing Series.

Swiss America’s Cup winner Alinghi holds a firm grip on the Extreme Sailing Series lead, however, there is plenty still to be decided in Turkey before the competition reaches its penultimate act in Nice and then culminates in Sydney. Istanbul typically sees steady winds on the coast, which will come as a relief after the volatile conditions in Cardiff a fortnight ago.

GAC Pindar Principal Andrew Pindar said: 'We’ve been forced into some late changes, with James Wierzbowski competing at the ISAF championships and Troy Tindill unavailable. However, we’re able to offer Tyson Lamond and Jack McCartney an opportunity to come aboard and they’re both very talented sailors.'

'It’s been a great year to test out a fantastic Australian crew and we’ve enjoyed giving them the experience of the Extreme Sailing Series against the best sailors in the world. Confidence is growing and the performance levels are improving as we saw on the Saturday in Cardiff that included a first race win in the Series. It’s only a matter of time before we start moving up the leader board.'
