2014 Mandurah Boat Show - WA’s biggest boat show, the Club Marine Mandurah Boat Show, will be on again this October at Mandurah Ocean Marina, and this year will offer more activity for families.

The Club Marine Mandurah Boat Show is the third largest boat show in Australia, and the largest show of its kind in Western Australia.

Already exhibitor interest is high for the Show and Show Director Peter Woods said he was expecting another successful event.

'The Show is still five months away, but already we have sold 70% of space,' Peter said. 'We have many of the big name brands returning this year as well as several new exhibitors.'

'The 2013 Show was extremely successful - exhibitor feedback from last year was positive and visitor number increased. Predictions for this year will be that we will see further growth in visitor numbers and more direct sales to help the industry,' Peter said.

Recognised as more than just a boat show, the Club Marine Mandurah Boat Show is designed as a fun, casual family day out. And to add to the excitement of the 2014 Show, Peter said he was pleased to have superstar Paul Worsteling coming back to Mandurah!

'Paul Worsteling is one of the most recognisable and popular people in fishing in Australia. He stars in the TV series IFish, and is massively popular,' Peter said.

'Paul is great for the Show. He has amazing and entertaining stories to tell, and loves to have a chat to his fans.'

'He will be at the Show all weekend, so make sure you come down and say hello,' he said.

Other attractions at the Show this year will include Club Marine’s Bart Beek on stage presenting cooking demonstrations; fishing demos in the Aquatank; kayak rides and boat demos; plus heaps of activity for the kids.

In keeping with the idea of family fun, Peter said the Club Marine Mandurah Boat Show was used to encourage families to get out and about – and get into boating and fishing.

'This year the Show will continue the theme of family fun and family recreation activities,' Peter said.

'We will be developing the event this theme to offer more interaction to families and children, with a number of activities and attractions on offer.'

'We will be working closely with agencies such as Department of Transport, Department of Fisheries and Recfishwest to continue the promotion of boating and fishing as healthy family activities,' he said.

Peter said one of the most popular activities of the past two years was the Kid’s Casting Competition.

'It’s important to get kids into fishing, and what better way than putting a rod in their hands and letting them have a go!'

'The Kid’s Casting Competition allows kids to try to hit the target and win a prize. We have members from the Fremantle Angling Club run the competition and give out advice to the kids – and the parents. It’s a fun and interactive activity that anyone can have a go at,' Peter said.

The Club Marine Mandurah Boat Show will be held from 10th – 12th October 2014 at the Mandurah Offshore Fishing and Sailing Club.
