Realteam in Cardiff, 2013 - Realteam heads to Cardiff for Act 5 of the Extreme Sailing Series Lloyd Images/Extreme Sailing Series
The Swiss Realteam sailors set off for Cardiff in the UK this week for the next round of the Extreme Sailing Series from the 22-25 August. Currently in fourth place overall, the team is approaching the second half of the season fresh and on top form.

Having been in high demand since the beginning of the year, the sailors were due a well-earned break: 'We really made the most of the summer break to clear our heads, sail on other boats and with other team members,' said skipper Jerome Clerc. 'After a few days of training on Lake Geneva on the Surprise and the Decision 35, we have switched back into race mode and are ready for Cardiff.'

The English leg of the Extreme 40 circuit is set to deliver an impressive sailing spectacle on Cardiff Bay over the bank holiday weekend. The team is familiar with the racecourse having sailed the same waters in 2013, which will help them enormously: 'It is a real advantage to know the course,' said Clerc. 'Especially when it is so narrow and the racing is so tight.'

Up against 10 highly talented teams, Realteam knows that consistency will be the secret to their success in Cardiff. 'We have already shown that we can have very good days, now we just need to have four in a row! We will need to stay consistent throughout!'
