With an unrivalled line-up of outdoor activities, demonstrations and special guests, this weekend's National 4x4 Outdoors Show and Fishing and Boating Expo at the Melbourne Showgrounds promises to be the premier event for outdoor enthusiasts.
More than 34,000 square metres will be dedicated to everything outdoor related, showcasing the best of the best in the caravan, camping, touring, towing, fishing, boating and 4x4 arenas.
'Our shows continue to lead the industry with the variety and quality of exhibitors, special guests and interactive activities, and this weekend's event in Melbourne will be no exception,' Paul Mathers, Event Director said.
'Over 230 exhibitors will be showcasing thousands of products, many with exclusive show pricing and offers. We will host the biggest number of boating and tackle exhibitors in years, plus camping, caravanning, RV and outdoor exhibitors have doubled, providing visitors with even more options and choices for their next adventure.'
'Our revolving line-up of special guests is sure to enthral and entertain visitors, as will the ever-popular Action Arena, the new 4WD Proving Ground and in a show first, live performances from Australian rock music legends.'
'We also have cooking demonstrations at the new Campfire Cooking Corner, giveaways and even a rock climbing wall and jumping castle for the kids.'
The WAECO Outback Stage, Tackleworld Fishing Stage and the Campfire Cooking Corner will host a packed schedule full of special guests and industry icons, many appearing exclusively at the National 4x4 Outdoors Show and Fishing and Boating Expo.
These include John 'Roothy' Rooth, the Bush Mechanic, Paul Worsteling from television's IFish, All four Adventure's Jase Andrews, Chris 'Brolga' Barnes, aka Kangaroo Dundee and Sheree and Peter 'Spida' Everitt from The Great Australian Doorstep.
Live from the XXXX Retreat in the Action Arena, Mark Seymour of Hunters and Collectors fame and Ross Wilson, fresh from his National tour as the front man for Mondo Rock, will be wowing the crowds in exclusive performances at 1pm on the Saturday and Sunday respectively.
The aptly named Action Arena will feature Matt Schubring of Crusty Demons fame thrilling the crowd with his FMX talent; 4x4 time trials; Ragged Edge rock crawlers; Stealth electric bikes and Black Jack the monster truck.
The new 4WD Proving Ground hosted by Rick O'Brien from Channel 10's Offroad Adventure Show features a purpose built track where visitors can not only test the latest 4WDs, but experience a range of driver education demonstrations ranging from safe towing to recovery and rescue.
The action continues nearby with jaw dropping displays from Australia's leading motorcycle stunt riding champion, Lukey Luke and Australia's most famous precision driving team, Isuzu UTE's Team D-MAX.
The Yarra Valley Fly Fishing team will be sharing tricks of the trade in the casting area with how to lessons in casting and fly tying, using the latest rods and accessories. Plus visitors of all ages and capabilities will be able to learn and perfect their fishing techniques with the Yamaha Supertank and regular casting classes locked in.
The Rig Master Tackles Fishing Simulator will appeal to everyone's competitive nature, with regular competitions to be run across the three days of the Show and over $3,000 in prizes up for grabs.
