Armband Cup on the horizon

by International 14 on 20 Jul 2014
Armband Cup Elena Giolai
The prestigious Armband Cup is once again upon us. The highest of prizes for those aspiring sailors dreaming of racing an International 14. To enter the event, one member of the crew must not have sailed an International 14. The events handicap system is so complex that only a handful of people truly understand it, but the key factors are the less experience you possess, the better your handicap. Never trapezed, no problem. Never helmed, the handicap is in your favour. Never heard of a spinnaker, they will never be able to catch you!

So no matter what standard you are, this is your time to shine. If you have a friend who has always been promised a sail, now is the time to take them for a spin. If you have seen one of these majestic vessels flying across the water and have been enticed by the thrill for speed and poise, then click the link below to the Facebook page, post your name and experience and prepare to be matched up with the best of the best the sailing world has yet produced.

Itchenor will be hosting the Armband Cup, a collection of short testing races where ability, knowledge and experience come up against the handicap scoring system, leavingone triumphant winner and a new generation of sailors hooked on racing the class that defines dinghy racing class.

First start 11:00.
