This coming weekend seventeen Melges 32 teams will usher in the 2014 European Championship, hosted by Fraglia Del Riva, organized by B.Plan Sports & Events and Melges Europe. The very best in competition is anticipated as this location provides one of the most stunning yachting backdrops and a very tricky race course.

Racing commences on Thursday, 17 July and continues through until Sunday when the next Melges 32 European Champion will be crowned! A ten-race series is scheduled.

Front and center, at the tip top of the 2014 Audi-Tron Sailing Series overall ranking is Russia's Valentin Zavadnikov/Leonid Lebodev's Synergy GT ahead - but not by much. In second is Mauro Mocchegiani aboard his Fratelli Giacomel Audi e-Tron, and Edoardo Lupi's Torpyone is third. View The Full 2014 Melges 32 Audi-Tron Sailing Series Ranking.

Among some of the strongest competitors that have guaranteed their participation are Filippo Pacinotti's Brontolo, Alessandro Rombelli's STIG, International Class Vice Chairman Richard Goransson's Helly Hansen Inga From Sweden, Andrea Ferrari's Spirit of Nerina, and Talamone Champion Roberto Tomasini Grinover on his famed Robertissima.

For the first time ever, the fleet is celebrating the presence of their very first European lady helm - Claudia Rossi, daughter of the three-time gold medal Alberto Racing with Enfant Terrible sailingh aboard Fantastica.

As in the past, the start of the Audi Tron Sailing Series means the return of the Audi test drives too. Anyone can demo the A3 g-tron, S1 Sportback, Admired A1, SQ5 and RS6 Avant. For further details, please call 345.9585343, or e-mail.

The Audi Tron Sailing Series has reconfirmed its innovative style with a brand new mobile app - now available on Google Play and iTunes Apple Store for free.
