New-to-New Zealand products at the Auckland On Water Boat Show

by Isla McKechnie on 16 Jul 2014
Back of White Sea Hawk-R will be displayed at the 2014 Auckland On the Water Boat Show SW
The Viaduct Harbour will host new innovation this September, as local companies show the best international products to New Zealand’s boating public.

A good night’s sleep.
Duvalay is a Dragon’s Den success story. The company, which delivers the comfort of a bed, anywhere, was created by a UK couple who didn’t want to spend their leisure time sleeping on uncomfortable, hard beds. They took their lightweight, memory foam product to the Dragon’s Den in 2011, secured an investment and set about changing expectations of what a bed can deliver onboard a boat, in caravans and in other travel settings.

The Duvalay team will have their 5 star sleep system, consisting of a bottom pocket containing memory foam and a top pocket housing an oversized duvet, at the show for you to feel for yourself. We predict this is set to become a hugely-popular product in boats, bachs and caravans around the country, with people who prefer their holidays to come with a good night’s sleep.

Light up the summer
Hella marine will be making sure New Zealanders have a light, bright summer on the water. The company will present two new products at the boat show; Sea Hawk-R deck floodlights and NaviLED 360 Compact Anchor Lamps.

NaviLED’s Compact Anchor Lamps set a new standard in ultra durable lamps and will be making navigation easier around the country this year. The two nautical mile LED lamps consume less than 1W, offer fantastic visibility and have been crafted with proven materials which will not become brittle or yellow in harsh UV conditions. The New Zealand-designed and manufactured lamps also come with Hella’s five year warranty.

Sea Hawk-R deck floodlights join one of Hella Marine’s most-successful LED floodlight series to date, and this latest edition has evolved to feature advanced materials for further efficiency and guaranteed reliability. The housings are non-metal, precision injection moulded from ceramic polymer, resistant to degradation. Designed to transfer heat away from internal electronics, the 550 lumens floodlights, consume only 7W and is engineered to provide a wide spread of light over cockpits, foredecks and working areas.

Cut your polishing time in half.
How much time will you spend on the water this summer, as opposed to maintaining your boat? Wyatt Ma-chine Tools will be demonstrating its new RUPES BigFoot, orbital polishing tool. Promising to cut polishing time by up to 50 per cent, boaters can achieve a flawless hologram-free finish without sacrificing finish quality.

RUPES is Italian-made and extensively researched, delivering professional results for the at-home weekend warrior. Don’t miss the chance to try this game-changing new tool for yourself on the Wyatt Machine Tools stand.

Keep your catch as fresh as the minute you hauled it in.
Dometic’s new vacuum sealer will change the way recreational fishers enjoy their catch this year, keeping food fresh for up to five times longer than it would keep unsealed. The unit itself is compact, and it also drastically reduces the space food takes up, freeing up space in the fridge or freezer. Dometic will have their vacuum sealer at the Auckland On Water Boat Show for you to see for yourself. Vacuum sealer rolls come in three metre long eight or eleven inch rolls, are BPA-free and food grade quality and fridge, freezer, microwave and simmer safe.

We think this is one addition that will more than earn its keep in the bach or on the boat.

The Auckland On Water Boat Show runs from 25 to 28 September in Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour and is New Zealand’s only on-water boat show. Catering for all on-water passions and providing hundreds of ex-perts ready to share their knowledge with you, this is the place to get set for a summer on the water.

From first time boat owners, to mates clubbing together to buy their first boat, and the serious boatie looking to upgrade, the show is a must-visit. Exhibitors will include an outstanding selection of over 100 boats in the Viaduct for visitors to explore, as they buy, dream, or compare their options before making their next pur-chase.

The Auckland On Water Boat Show is your show, and there’ll be plenty of rewards for heading along, in-cluding the chance to win a seven day charter for two from The Moorings in Tonga, including airfares from Auckland, as well as two $1000 prize packages to be won each day.
