Team Luna Rossa continues its training on board of the AC45 Luna Rossa Piranha following the modifications of the appendages (daggerboards and rudders).
Today Max Sirena, skipper of Luna Rossa, was very satisfied with the performance of the catamaran and said: 'What we experienced today is a great start; with wind between 8 and 15 knots we foiled both upwind and downwind and maintained an average speed that we wouldn’t have expected on the second day of sailing. We are focusing on manoeuvres, especially on the foiling jibes and on boat handling.'
Today was also the last day of the Stena Match Cup in Sweden. In this second stage of the Alpari World Match Racing Tour team Luna Rossa, with Francesco Bruni at the helm, finished in fourth place after 6 days of racing. The event was attended by 14 skippers among whom some of the best international match racers. The regattas were characterized by extremely variable wind conditions ranging from today’s very light breezes to winds over 25 knots in the third day of racing.
