365 days to go until the Melges 24 World Championship! Large events take time to practice for - and to plan. Match Racing Denmark, who will be hosting the event next summer, attracting top sailors from all over the world to Middelfart, have just launched the event website, opening for entries.

The recently held Melges 24 European Championship 2014 took place in Hungary, at the Balaton Lake, attracting sailors from all over the world. The next large title event in the Melges 24 class will be the World Championship 2015 that takes place in Middelfart, Denmark, next summer - in exactly 365 days - from 30 June to 5 July 2015.

'To some this might seem a long time from now, but it really is not if you know how many things we have to get a grip on - from financing, media-set-up and partners to logistics, staff and accommodation,' said Søren Mathiesen Laugesen, Event Manager at Match Racing Denmark, organizer of the World Championship in cooperation with the International Melges 24 Class Association. The championship will be raced in the Little Belt south of Middelfart Marina.

Open for entries on the new event website.

The organizers have just launched the event website where sailors, press and visitors can find all necessary information related to the World Championship, incl. signing up for newsletters and press lists. The launch of the website simultaneously marks that the championship is now open for entries. Registration form is available on the event website.

To make the stay and the World Championship in Denmark extra memorable, the wonderful Hindsgavl Castle will be converted to clubhouse for the Melges 24 sailors. Additionally, the sailors, their families, all officials and not the least visitors and vacationing families will be able to enjoy the city of Middelfart, a maritime market town in the el dorado of Denmark. Surrounded by water and unique countryside, Middelfart is the perfect base for a holiday, a conference - and a Melges 24 event.
