Current World Champion, Glenn Ashby scored two wins to retain his lead in the 2014 European A-Class Catamaran Championships, being sailed on Lake Hourtin, Bordeaux, France.

Three days have now been sailed in the regatta and today's was the best for sailing with winds of 15-17kts, allowing the multihulls to foil - an experience not new to Barker, but this is the first regatta in the foiling singlehander.

Second overall is Jason Waterhouse (3,3) and Sandro Caviezel (4,6), with Andrew Landenberger in fourth, and Barker in fifth place.

Barker was 18th overall after 4 races in light winds and now holds a top fifth overall, gaining 13 placings in one day.

Foiling conditions downwind provided by a good stable breeze. The racing was delayed as on Monday/ Tuesday a late thermal covered the Lake just after each final race.

Light wind specialist Matthias Dietz and Georg Reutter lost some spots in the breeze, they were fourth / third overall yesterday.

In the Silver fleet Philippe Presti won both races, and Abdon Ibañez 2 & 2.

2013 French Champ and Europeans event coordinator, Hervé Ledue posted a 9 & sixth to grab the lead in the Silver fleet.

Tomorrow is Reserve / Rest day, and 8-10knots are expected.

Lake Hourtin has now provided a nice mix of sailing conditions to challenge foilers and light winds specialists alike.
