Tammy Wolf and Mercury's Formula 2 Powerboat Tammy Wolf
Bay City (Michigan) is one of the few courses on the US F1 Powerboat Tour Schedule where Tammy Wolf doesn't have a lot of experience.

Tammy Wolf, who drives the No. 88 Formula Two Powerboat, is in her second full-time season in the US F1 Powerboat Tour Formula Two Series and her second season with Mercury - Canada . She spent eight years driving the smaller Formula Three boats in the Powerboat Superleague Series (2004-12), has a first-runner up series championship and two career wins.

Tammy Wolf scored four top-five finishes during her rookie season with a second place finish at the world championship and a third place finish at the US National Championships and was named Formula Two rookie of the year.

Wolf, has made only one start at Bay City in 2013. Her visit to Bay City last June saw her start eighth and finish fifth. Wolf is hoping the Divisional Championship this weekend goes better than her appearance in Formula One season opener at the Maple City Grand Prix in LaPorte, Indiana. Wolf time trialed in eighth position and maintained her position in qualifying. When she was hit during qualifying heat three and was unable to avoid making heavy contact with another competitor. She finished the season opening Formula One event in 12th position, a strong finish considering damages to her boat.

At Bay City this weekend, Wolf will compete in the Formula Two class and is hoping to run a smooth and clean race, building upon a fifth-place Formula Two (a.k.a. SST 200) finish she and the Mercury - Canada team scored in May during Thunder on the Neches in Texas.

Bay City is known as one of the roughest courses for tunnel boat drivers in North America bringing team from across the USA and Canada to compete for the title of Divisional Champion.

Tammy Wolf, Driver of the No. 88 Mercury Canada Formula Two Powerboat:

How excited are you for competing at one of the roughest courses in the USA?

'I believe challenges make us stronger. Last year we have a lot of fun during the event. The course is extremely challenging for me but our goal is to grow and become more comfortable with the conditions.'

What is the key to racing at Bay City? 'I believe, at Bay City, staying out of trouble is most important to have a strong finish. Keeping the power up and the nose of the boat up out of the water will be essential.'

What is the hardest part about boat racing in Bay City? 'The hardest part of Bay City is putting a consistent lap together, we need to nail every corner and pay attention to the river conditions, wind and competitors.'
