RYA launches new Refer a Friend scheme

by Emma Slater on 20 Jun 2014
SW
Currently some 102,000 boaters are members of the RYA taking advantage of a whole host of benefits, rewards, discounts and offers and with the introduction of the new ‘Refer a Friend’ scheme the RYA hopes that even more boaters can take advantage of these great offers and services.

The new scheme not only offers new members 25% discount on the price of their chosen membership type; but once the friend or family member has signed up the referring member will receive a special thank gift of either an exclusive RYA branded umbrella or five litre RYA branded dry bag from Overboard.

'RYA Membership underpins everything we do at the RYA and we hope that this added incentive for existing members to help us spread the word and introduce their friends to the RYA will be a great way to allow even more people to take advantage of the great benefits the RYA has to offer', explained Conor Swift, RYA Membership Development Manager.

As an RYA member you have unlimited access to specialist and technical advice, news and bespoke support from our experts and you can take advantage of countless money saving offers and discounts.

'Every new member also adds their voice in support of the work of the RYA ensuring that legislators, regulators and other authorities understand and take account of recreational boating activity.

'The more members we have, the louder our voice to act on members behalf to protect their freedom to use the water responsibly, with the minimum of restrictions', Conor added.

Taking part in the new Refer a Friend scheme is really simple.

• Complete the referral form including the name and email address of your friend together with a reason why they should join the RYA.
• Select your referral gift.
• We’ll invite your friend to join the RYA by email.
• If your friend becomes a member, you receive your selected referral gift in the post, it’s that easy

'Our members are the greatest ambassadors we have and we hope that by giving them this added ‘thank you’ for spreading the word about the work we do here at the RYA will be well received', concluded Conor.
