With three races complete and a simply spectacular day of racing at the third act of the 2014 Audi-Tron Sailing Series in Talamone, Roberto Tomasini Grinover's Robertissima with tactician Vasco Vascotto cashed in a 1-2-4 scorecard for the early overall lead. It is clear - Tomasini Grinover is on a performance upswing. With his win in early March in Miami and his very recent Mini Maxi Volcano Race win, it is obvious that he and his crew are in tip-top, ultra-competitive shape.

Refusing defeat, close behind in second place, only two points back is Filippo Pacinotti with Gabrio Zandona as tactician on Brontolo H/H, followed by Valentin Zavadnikov and his Synergy GT team in the steady hands of tactician Michele Ivaldi in third.

The Talamone fleet is one of the toughest and most impressive ever assembled, yet Tomasini Grinover and Pacinotti dominated the day. Despite Pacinotti's seventh place finish in Race One, he came back with supersonic speed to take the win in Race Two and Three.

Rounding out the top five is Edoardo Lupi's Torpyone in fourth and Arturo Di Lorenzo on Malafemmena in fifth.

More racing is scheduled for Saturday as the fleet works its way to complete a scheduled eight race weekend series. If three more races are completed tomorrow, discards go into effect with the potential of dramatically shuffling the scoreboard, setting up Sunday as the ultimate showdown.
