This forthcoming weekend, round three of the 2014 Melges 32 Audi Tron Sailing Series circuit organized by BPSE Sports&Events in coordination with Melges Europe commences with three days and eight scheduled races featuring fierce competition and sixteen masterful Melges 32 teams.

For Ferrari, Talamone will be key as he is the current 2014 Series leader, only four points ahead of Valentin Zavadnikov's Synergy GT in second. Edoardo Lupi on Torpyone is currently third and has had a banner year thus far with Lorenzo Bressani by his side. Mauro Mocchegiani's Fratelli Giacomel Audi E-Tron and Filippo Pacinotti's Brontolo H/H round out the top five in fourth and fifth.

Returning to the stage after being absent in Porto Ercole are two highly competitive Italian teams, sure to be in contention for a prize - 2014 Melges 32 Miami Winter Regatta Champion and Mini Maxi Volcano Race winner Roberto Tomasini Grinover's Robertissima, and Alessandro Rombelli's STIG with Star Class Olympic Gold Medallist (London 2012) Freddy Loof serving as tactician.

A robust social schedule is planned. On Thursday, teams will enjoy a welcome cocktail gathering at the Audi hospitality tent, a drink party at Circolo della vela Talamone sponsored by Series logistics partner Kuehne + Nagel will be held on Friday evening, and a crew party is planned for Saturday night.

As in the past, the start of the Audi Tron Sailing Series means the return of the Audi test drives too. Anyone can demo the A3 g-tron, S3 Sportback, Admired A1, SQ5 and RS6 Avant. For further details, please call 345.9585343, or e-mail.
