Perhaps the second most important part of boat ownership, besides getting out on your boat, is berthing it safely. At the 2014 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS), docking systems of all kinds will be on show – from massive marina systems to personal pens for PWCs, all displaying high-tech and ingenious solutions.

The big names and the emerging players will have displays, demonstrations and launches at SCIBS.

The largest pontoon manufacturer in Australia, Jetty Specialists, will be at SCIBS in Pavilion A, not showing their products so much as their credentials.

For 28 years, Jetty Specialists have supplied pontoons and marinas for government and mining infrastructure, ferry terminals for Councils and various departments of transport from Port Lincoln to Darwin. They also have a foam-filled jet ski dock as an additional product in their range.

At this year’s boat show, Jetty Specialists will be promoting their latest projects and expertise to trade visitors.
Superior is preparing for a global launch during SCIBS, of what it calls 'world-first commercial and domestic adaptive floating system (AFS) that sets a new benchmark in waterfront living'.

The Waterscape project is a floating waterfront structure that transforms a format that has changed little in 50 years. Waterscape provides solutions to the engineering and design challenges found in the current design of waterfront structures.

Waterscape is as simple as it is versatile. The design allows for modifications that can extend from internal patented levelling systems and inbuilt subsea anchoring to having a full entertaining suite, complete with a barbeque area, booth seating, shade, and extensive LED lighting options.

Bellingham Marine one of the world’s largest names in marinas, attends SCIBS as an important marketing and branding exercise, meeting trade contacts and networking. This year, the stand in the Australian Marine Pavilion will be managed by Queensland & NT Business Development Manager, Tom Meehan.

Dock Pro & Sea Pen will be presenting their Sea Pen advance dry docking technology, which is a water level dry docking system.

Fab Dock, which launched at Sanctuary Cove four years ago, will be commemorating its anniversary this year with a display showcasing the latest, improved version of the water-level docking product that inventor, Dean Howard describes as 'training wheels for boats'.

'Not only does it keep your boat dry, reducing maintenance costs, but it also helps you berth your boat.' The Fab dock set up will have Dean’s 34-ft Cabriolet Royale onboard to demonstrate its characteristics, but it can accommodate boats up to 60-ft.

The AirBerth Boat Lift system is an innovative and market leading floating boat lift. It is designed to moor monohull planning vessels and power catamarans out of the harsh marine environment. The AirBerth system enables boat owners to have the convenience and ultimate protection of dry storing their vessel out of the water. At SCIBS, the team at AirBerth will have a working AirBerth Boat Lift on the marina display.

Constructed entirely using HDPE (High Density Polyethylene), this robust material is ideal in the marine environment as it is non-corrosive and has the highest UV stability. The AirBerth system eliminates the need to use anti-fouling paints for both their vessel and the AirBerth system.

There are nine standard models within our range from 2,300kgs up to 15,000kgs. The AirBerth Boat Lift range is successfully exported around the world having an established presence within the commercial and Government sectors as well as the recreational boating market.

Pacific Pontoon & Pier will have a display of previous and current projects on show, as well as a 1.2m x 1.2m section of open pontoon so customers can see manufacturing process. The low maintenance, durable and HDPE foam-filled system is topped with a concrete deck. It uses a hinged system and is in demand for use in marinas in New Zealand and around Australia.

River Links Marine will have its Dandy dock jet ski docking system on display, as well as a new product, coming from the US just this week, known as WaveArmor. This new product is the wider version of the docking system, 1.8m wide compared to 1.5m, and can accommodate tinnies, RIBS and tenders.

From their prominent location on Masthead Way, River Links Marine will also have a range of Rave Sport wakeboards, paddleboards, inflatable toys, kneeboards and skis, imported from the US.

With production facilities in Australia, Canada and France, Poralu has been in the pontoon and marina industry for 35 years, with 8,000 waterfront projects to its name worldwide from Monaco to Fremantle. EWS/Poralu will have on show this year an overview of their credentials in manufacturing and installing pontoon systems for boats up to 50m. They have commercial as well as residential options and use recyclable materials that are maintenance free and highly durable, as well as a versatile option for marinas and decks.

SCIBS is the ideal show for raising awareness on the east coast for this WA-based company, meeting clients and promoting their latest projects.

Sponsored by Club Marine and Maserati EuroMarque Brisbane, SCIBS 2014 will run from May 22 to 25.
