North Sails NZ presents their latest e-Newsletter, featuring an update on 3DL, and the latest racing successes for the New Zealand loft

24 years of innovation has helped 3DL power more winning teams that any other sail in history. And now these weapons-of-choice are more affordable than ever with our updated range of 3DL products.

North 3DL sails have won more Grand Prix races than all other brands combined. In this past year alone 3DL has powered Farr 40, Melges 20, Melges 32 World Champs…just to name a few.
3DL is thermo-formed on full sized three-dimensional moulds in their precise flying shape, resulting in a longer performance life and smoother shape than any other panelled, string, or laminate sail in the world. 3DL pioneered continuous yarn path, one piece sail construction, and interlaced internal battens.
Our Carbon 3DL sails are made with North's proprietary Flex-Balanced Carbon yarn (lower stretch with better flex resistance than other carbon fibers), resulting in sail longevity that no other sailmaker can provide. Sophisticated North Grand-Prix yarn layouts have been the performance sail benchmark for many years, with better yarn coverage and higher densities producing more upwind boat speed.

For added durability, Performance 3DL sails have a UV stabilizer built into their films meaning less maintenance and more time on the water. 3DL comes in seven varieties, whether you race or cruise there is an option for you...
As an added bonus when you invest in 3DL sails, you are also gaining access to the design team that has powered America’s Cup, Volvo Ocean Race, Vendee Globe and Barcelona Around The World winners.

There has never been a better time to have proven performance aboard, so if you are thinking about a new sail let us show you the difference 3DL can make.
