The Paddock

Katinka Port Hacking to Batemans Bay regatta
Tail Gunner, Katinka, reports from Bass Strait in the 2003 Rolex Sydney to Hobart race.
Well, here we are in the paddock, or for the landlubbers Bass Strait.
It is known as the paddock because farmer Giles regularly comes out and digs it up and makes it very bumpy, which he is in the process of doing as I write.
We have had spinnakers up for around three hours, but as the seas build it is becoming a bit rocky and rolly, so with the crew and distance to travel, discretion is the better part of valour.
Anyway, it is all good fun.
The weather looks like it will remain favourable for us.
