2014 Audi Tron Sailing Series - No wind, no racing in Naples

by Melges 20 on 6 Apr 2014
2014 Audi Tron Sailing Series 2014 BPSE
Unfortunately, the first day of scheduled racing at the 2014 Audi Melges 20 Audi Tron Sailing Series in Naples, Italy did not run any races due to the lack of breeze. All twenty-eight teams taking part in the event, hosted by the Circolo del Remo e della Vela Italia, organized by B.Plan Sport and Events (BPSE) in cooperation with Melges Europe were sent back to shore.

The fleet found their way back to the docks very quietly and environmentally friendly, special thanks to the electric outboard motors provided to all the teams by Torqeedo, a sailing series circuit partner supported by automobile manufacturer Ingolstadt.

Once back ashore, the teams relaxed at the Yacht Club and Audi Hospitality Village, set along the Caracciolo seafront, a few meters away the Castel Dell'Ovo where they enjoyed free rides in the Audi latest models.

The Audi Tron Sailing Series will resume on Sunday, 6 April at 09.30.

As in the past, the start of the Audi Tron Sailing Series means the return of the Audi test drives too. Anyone can demo the A3 g-tron, RS6 Avant, SQ5, and A1 SB Admired. For further details, please call 345.9585343, or email at info@atton.it.

In addition to main sponsor Audi, the Audi Tron is supported by official sponsors Kuehne+Nagel, Torqeedo electric motors and technical partners such as the Ente Fiera di Genova, Nespresso and Olicor.
