For UK sailors, the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) is pleased to announce they have brought out a new edition of RYA Competent Crew Skills –and it has also been updated to also include motor vessels in order to appeal to both sail and power readers. It replaces the RYA Competent Crew Practical Course Notes.

Directly supporting the RYA Competent Crew and RYA Start Motor Cruising courses, the new edition has had its illustrations revamped to completely modernise the look and feel, as well as the overall layout benefitting from a redesign, while the eBook version has been embedded with touch screen technology to help illustrate important elements and informative video content.

Vaughan Marsh, RYA Chief Instructor Sail Cruising and Shorebased commented: 'We are very pleased with the results of the new RYA Competent Crew Skills book. The combination of power and sail shows just how alike many of the skills are.

'Not only will the book be useful for pre learning prior to the course and invaluable during the course, it will also be an excellent reference book after the course has finished and for many years to come.'
The techniques shown in the RYA Competent Crew Skills book are tried and tested and suitable for most types of cruisers. It is an excellent starting point for those undertaking their first boating experience in order to make sense of the first few days on board or as a handy reference book for those returning to the sport after time away from it.

Both the print and eBook versions of this title can be purchased through the RYA webshop. RYA members benefit from a 15% discount when making their purchase via the RYA webshop.

Other advantages of also buying eBooks through the RYA shop include being able to download to any compatible device (iOS, Android, Kindle Fire and Desktop including PC and Mac) up to a maximum of three. It also allows bookmarks and notes to synchronise between devices.
