Following a full winter workout, the Dinghy Academy is now ready to take part in the first big event of the 2014 sailing season, the Trofeo Princesa Sofia - ISAF Sailing World Cup Mallorca in El Arenal (Palma de Mallorca, Spain). A big fleet of 810 boats and 1,136 sailors is converging on Mallorca for this monster event which is set to take place from March 31st to April 5th.

The Dinghy Academy will be in Palma with a strong international Finn team, headed by Team Captain, Slovenian double medallist Vasilij Zbogar, who won in 2013 his first Finn major title being crowned European Champion last July in Warnemünde, Germany. The Dinghy Academy Team will sail in Palma, with athletes from Spain, Portugal, Italy, Hungary, Turkey, Uruguay, Russia, Australia and Slovenia. The team can count among others with the national Spanish team headed by Alejandro Muscat and Pablo Guitiàn, with Italian strong match racer Simone Ferrarese, Portuguese Frederico Melo, Hungarian Szombor Berecz and Russian Arkadiy Kistanov. 94 Finn sailors are fully registered to sail in the Trofeo Princesa Sofia in El Arenal.

Head Coach Luca Devoti commented; 'We have worked hard all winter long and this season is very important for us. I think we have reached a level that will allows small nations like Hungary, Portugal, Slovenia and important nations like Spain, Russia and Turkey to emerge to the top ten in the Olympic scene and I think we will be a force to be recognized and I am looking forward for a really exhilarating season'.

The Dinghy Academy will sail in Palma also with four Laser sailors from Russia, Czech Republic and Spain. Dinghy Academy is launching in Palma its new laser training program based on the same principle of the Finn Dinghy Academy
