Rolex U.S. Sailing Events - Rolex Farr 40 North American Championship, When: May 14-17, Where: Long Beach, California, First held in 1998, the Rolex Farr 40 North American Championship has consistently attracted local and international talent from the class’s regional fleets around the globe. The four-day event moves to a different location annually, and this year competitors will be returning to Southern California’s Long Beach Yacht Club, which hosted the event in 2011.

New York Yacht Club 160th Annual Regatta presented by Rolex
When: June 13-15
Where: Newport, Rhode Island

The country’s oldest continually run regatta will celebrate its 160th edition this summer with a weekend of competition and camaraderie on Narragansett Bay. Hosted by the New York Yacht Club, the annual event this year precedes the biennial Newport Bermuda Race and serves as the first of three competitions to count in the venerable Onion Patch Series, which includes the Newport Bermuda Race. In addition to racing in the weekend series, all eligible yachts may also compete in Friday’s separately scored Around-the-Island Race. Entry is open to yachts with a minimum LOA of 25 feet in IRC, Classic, 12 Metre and One-Design classes as well as the recently introduced Cruiser-Racer and Double-handed divisions on 'navigator' courses.

New York Yacht Club Race Week at Newport Presented by Rolex
When: July 12-19
Where: Newport, Rhode Island

This biennial race week – in its ninth running – has become a favorite of sailors because of its unique split format: Classics and Metre-boat racing on Saturday and Sunday (July 12-13) and Handicap and One-Design classes competing the following week from Wednesday to Saturday (July 16-19). Racing takes place on Narragansett Bay and Rhode Island Sound, with social activities at New York Yacht Club’s Harbour Court clubhouse. This year, the event will serve as the inaugural HPR International Championship, the Swan 42 National Championship and the J/109 North American Championship.

Rolex Big Boat Series
When: September 11-14
Where: San Francisco, California

Inaugurated in 1964, the Rolex Big Boat Series is hosted by St. Francis Yacht Club and takes place annually on San Francisco Bay. In 2005, Rolex became title sponsor of this grand-prix regatta, which draws top sailors and boats from across the nation and abroad for four days of extremely competitive one-design and handicap racing.

Rolex Farr 40 World Championship
When: October 15-18
Where: San Francisco, California

Maintaining an extensive international schedule that revolves around regional fleets in the U.S.A., Australia, southern Europe, and the Nordic region, the Farr 40 class will host its annual Rolex Farr 40 World Championship, in San Francisco this year. In its 17th edition, the regatta will be hosted by St. Francis Yacht Club, and for four days, highly competitive amateurs and professionals from around the globe will race identical yachts on demanding courses staged on San Francisco Bay.
