UIM Awards Giving Gala - Stefano Casiraghi Memorial Trophy for RYA

At the fifth UIM Awards Giving Gala held at the Salle des Etoiles in the Principality of Monaco, the RYA was awarded the Stefano Casiraghi Memorial Trophy.

Launched by the UIM in 2010 the Stefano Casiraghi Memorial Trophy is given in recognition of special service to the sport and to those who in their career have done something to improve and develop the sport.

RYA representative Anne Robinson who accepted the award on behalf of the RYA commented: 'It was an honour to receive this prestigious award in recognition of the work carried out by the Royal Yachting Association and its committees over many years and the knowledge that the UIM holds the RYA Committees in very high esteem.'

The UIM awarded the trophy to the RYA for being the driving force behind the dedicated training and racing section who constantly strive to reach the highest achievements.

Jeni Jelf RYA Powerboat Racing Manger added: 'The RYA Powerboat Racing division has a long and successful relationship of working with the UIM and we are delighted that the hard work of everyone involved in making RYA Powerboat Racing a success in the UK have been recognised by this award.

'The RYA constantly strives to look at ways to develop the sport and make it as accessible, safe and enjoyable for everyone involved.'

The UIM Awards Giving Gala was opened by HSH Prince Albert II in front of 500 guests, which included VIP’s, national authorities, celebrities, and the UIM World Champions and Awards winners and crowned the Powerboating champions of the last season and the prestigious UIM Awards winners.

Over 60 UIM World Champions from 40 different countries attended the UIM yearly event receiving their well-deserved honours.
