Victorian 29ers Championships 2014 was held over the weekend of 22nd and 23rd February. What a great weekend for the Victorian 29ers, those that made the journey to Geelong (Skiff Paradise) had experienced great conditions for sailing.
Royal Geelong Yacht Club ran a wonderful regatta and ordered perfect weather, with moderate winds on the Saturday and perfect 5-15knots on Sunday.
Congratulations to our first female skipper to win the Victorian Championships Nicola Armstrong and her crew Liam Robinson showing good training and hard work pay off. Second was 13 year old Optimist sailor Harrison Sly teamed with experienced Tom Dwyer and third class new comers Josh Galland and Leroy Addison.
This year we had a number of new teams competing particularly from Royal Geelong Yacht Club and Royal Yacht Club of Victoria, these new teams showed how quickly they have adapted to the 29er with their competitive results on Saturday in the stronger winds.
