Three more races were conducted today for the Australian 470 Championships at Sorrento in breezes of 12-18 knots and flat water. Again, the fleet only keen on racing with three clean starts.
Today, the leading team of Matt Belcher and Will Ryan were pushed all the way first by the Japanese team of Doi Kazuto and Imamura then by the Crawford brothers Matthew and Robert and finally a real battle was had with AST team-mates Angus Galloway and Tim Hannah. Belcher/Ryan secured the wins but very exciting racing was had.
Carrie Smith and Sarah Cook had a good day closing the gap to two point to womens leader Lucy Shephard and Emma Barton from Tasmania.
Final day tomorrow with three races scheduled followed by presentations.
Also making the day more exciting was the inclusion on the course of the 420 State Championships involving 18 boats.
