Canadian Sailing Team success in Fort Lauderdale

The Lauderdale Yacht club played host to the Lauderdale Olympic Class Ocean Regatta including, Finn, Laser Radial and Laser full rig this weekend. Canadians had a successful event with Greg Douglas capturing gold, beating out strong competitors including Caleb Paine (USA), Jake Lilley (AUS), Oliver Tweddell (AUS) and Jorge Zarif (BRA).

Canada swept the podium in the Radial class led by Brenda Bowskill in first, Claire Merry second and sister Ingrid Merry rounding out third.

The Laser fleet was chalked full of international podium performers including Tom Burton (AUS) in first, Karl-Martin Rammo (EST) second, and Wannes Van Laer (BEL) third. Lee Parkhill just missed the podium in a respectable fourth overall. Robert Davis rounds out the top 10 in the 30 boat fleet.
