Sunday marked the commencement of activities at Ocean Reef Club in high anticipation of the very first ever Audi Melges 20 World Championship, fully supported by Melges USA and Coconut Grove Sailing Club. The day came to a perfect close with teams gathering at the home of George and Patty Lucas for an incredible, yet casual and easy kick-off dinner party.

At high noon, teams assembled in an organized line for launching boats and inspection. Rob Wilber's Cinghiale, Trey Sheehan's Flat Stanley/Hooligan Racing, Skip Shapiro's Makiara and John Kilroy's Samba Pa Ti were along those that finally put it on wax in preparation of the start of the Championship.

Registration gets fully underway on Monday with sail measurement commencing in the same location. Boat measurement and inspection continues as teams set-up for more practice time and the rest of the fleet ascends upon Ocean Reef Event website
