Multihull Solutions continues to move from strength to strength with prestigious French shipyard Privilège Marine selecting the Australian company to exclusively represent its range of cruising sail catamarans in the Asia Pacific market.

Privilège has an impeccable pedigree, founded in 1985 by world famous Phillipe Jeantot who has twice won the BOC and founded the famous Vendee Globe yacht race. Since then, Privilège has become an industry leader, dominating the USA cruising catamaran market and scooping numerous awards including International Trophee of Quality in 1992, and several USA Boat of the Year titles.

The shipyard is the world authority in large catamarans over 15 metres. There are currently five core models in the Privilège fleet ranging from AUD$500,000 to AUD$4m including Privilège Serie 4.5, Privilège Serie 4.9, Privilège Serie 5, Privilège 615 and the stunning flagship model Privilège 745.

There are no fewer than 600 Privilège catamarans, including 80 boats over 17 metres, currently sailing all over the world.

Multihull Solutions managing director Mark Elkington said it is a tremedous honour to have been selected by Privilège Catamarans as their sole regional sales representative.

'Privilège is recognised as arguably one of the the most prestigious cruising catamaran manufacturers in the world, and their addition to our stable of brands enables us to offer even greater choice of models, sizes and budgets to Asia Pacific multihull enthusiasts,' Mark said.

'We were approached by Privilège after they had been monitoring our consistent success with other European brands including Fountaine Pajot, Catana and Sunreef. When we won our fourth Fountaine Pajot Worldwide Dealer of the Year award in 2013, Privilège officially invited Multihull Solutions to exclusively represent them as well,' he said.

Led by CEO Gilles Wagner, Privilège operates from an historic site at Les Sables d'Olonne on the west coast of France. The Privilège team prides itself on its unparalleled expertise, know-how and experience that facilitate the construction of premier catamarans. Privilège catamarans are particularly renowned for their circumnavigation abilities, superior comfort both underway and at mooring, their durability, equipment quality and craftsmanship of the fibreglass work.

Privilège hulls, shapes and decks are entirely developed by the world-famous design office of Marc Lombard Design Group (MLDG). State-of-the-art design software is used to improve hull shape resistance, hull drag and structure performance of each model.

Marc Lombard’s design office is responsible for numerous victories in offshore racing and multihull projects (Formula 40, Orma 60, etc), and also in the monohull world (Classe 40, Imoca 60, IRC, Mini Transat, etc). Historically focused on racing, MLDG is the very first naval architect office to integrate doctorate specialists in hydrodynamics to further expand its expertise.

The ‘forward pods’ create a distinctive style that is a hallmark of Privilège catamarans’ aesthetics and construction. The extra volume in the pod allows for more generous space in each forward cabin, particularly in the Owner’s Suite when it spans the entire beam of the boat. The pod also allows for a convenient fixed baby stay and the delivery of exceptional comfort in rough weather when the pod leans on the wave to avoid deep immersion of the bows.

There is no compromise on the quality of Privilège catamarans’ interiors, and only the very finest in materials and fittings is used for furnishings, upholstery and electrical fixtures. Technical integration and careful attention to ergonomics and functionality further optimises quality of life on board.

Every Privilège catamaran can be customised to cater for individual client needs, whether it is an extra bookshelf, an even larger bed, a specific oven or a unique layout.

Deck equipment, sails and rigging are also of premium standard with Marechal masts and Incidences sails manufactured and fitted under careful scrutiny to the very highest specifications.

Privilège is also the only shipyard to have signed an agreement with Bureau Veritas to oversee the selection of materials, conditions of application, control of architect drawings and complete process of quality control implementation. Every owner receives a Bureau Veritas certificate attesting to the high standard of their new catamaran, and this rigorous attention to quality control enables Privilège to provide five-year warranties on catamaran structure including hulls, bulkheads and deck.

Privilège buyers have the option of collecting their new catamaran directly from the Privilège shipyard where they are provided with a comprehensive handover process before they step on board and set sail. International shipping is also available as an option for those who wish to have their Privilège catamaran delivered to a port in the Asia Pacific region.

Further information about Privilège and their range of catamarans can be obtained by contacting Multihull Solutions on 1300 855 338 (within Australia) or 0508 MULTIS (within New Zealand), emailing info@multihullsolutions.com.au or visiting the website.
