With the 'Great Race' a little under a month away, each team is fine-tuning their boats and equipment ready for the charge south on Boxing Day.

Teamwork is critical in this race with every sailor onboard playing a key role in the yachts overall performance. If one person is not performing for any reason then the yacht’s performance suffers which is why having the best combination of clothing is critical.

Enter the Gill Ocean Racer Range of Wet Weather Gear and the Gill i5 Crosswind Mid Layers- A 'must have' for anyone racing south this year.

Gill Ocean Racer Range (OC1)
The Gill Ocean Racer range has been tested for the equivalent of 10 times around the world to ensure it provides the best protection of any gear we have ever made. This research and development project has consisted of a three year consultation and testing period with serious sailors across the worlds oceans- 215,000 nautical miles of on water testing to be precise!

The hi- spec range features everything you would expect and more. Key features include the next generation SuperFabric ® protection zones to the seat, knee and elbow areas. The Gill 5Dot TM waterproof and breathable 3 layer fabric is used to ensure maximum comfort and protection against the elements.

The range is chock full of innovative design features such as super stretch back panels for extra comfort, strategically positioned pockets and waterproof zips for ease of access and a highly functional neck & face closure system. The Active Fit rollaway hood with 2-way volume adjustment makes deploying and stowing your hood easier than ever before. For the Bow Person, an inner thigh grip mechanism makes a trip out to the end of the bowsprit a breeze.

Available in a Jacket, Bib Trouser and Smock (soft touch latex neck) the Gill Ocean Racer Range is ready to do the job for you this year.

ill i5 Crosswind- Versatile Technical Layering System
The Gill i5 Crosswind range is the benchmark in high level mid layer technology and bridges the gap between regular mid layers and waterproof outer layers to offer an extremely flexible product.

The Crosswind jacket and salopette are fully taped, waterproof, windproof and breathable making these products mandatory for any one heading south on Boxing Day.

Using the latest in laminate fabric technology, the garments provide an extremely soft, low-bulk mid layer. Zoned thermal insulation is ultra compact, non-absorbent and quick drying, boasting an excellent warmth to weight ratio which keeps the core body temperature stable when most needed.

Wear as part of a technical layering system or wear alone as an outer shell in less aggressive conditions, the Gill Crosswind has been known to be the subject of conversations at Customs House in Hobart with many sailors talking about 'Just how good my Gill Midlayers were!'

Don’t have any regrets at the finish line and protect your core with the Gill i5 Crosswind.
