New SCIBS website one-stop shop for exhibitors

The Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS) team has unveiled a new-look website ahead of the 2014 Show, in a bid to improve functionality and ease of use for exhibitors, visitors and sponsors.

It follows a recent fact-finding mission undertaken by the SCIBS team to gather insight into the requirements of marine companies, past and present exhibitors as they prepare for next year’s event.

The response, according to Sanctuary Cove’s head of events Johan Hasser, indicated key priorities were registering, booking space and ease of access to information and resources.

Mr Hasser said the new site was a 'one stop shop for the exhibitor, with all the information about the show available just one or two clicks away.'

'The site has been custom designed, developed specifically for the boat show to meet the demands from exhibitors, sponsors and visitors, with a very easy and intuitive navigation.

For exhibitors, application is as easy as registering to receive login details within minutes. Once granted, this unique login will deliver access to all exhibitor and event information. 'No paper applications or postage involved, streamlining the entire process,' said Mr Hasser.

'Exhibitors can add or amend their application, check available positions and locations in the pavilions and around the show,' he explained. 'They can add extras such as guest passes, power and tent structures. This is all linked in with boat show CAD software to optimise site layouts.'

Then there’s all the latest news, image galleries and clips from previous events, plus tabs to connect with Facebook, YouTube or Twitter.

Website designer, Tim Sedgwick, has been working with Mulpha Australia for several years on branding and design for property and land sales. He was extremely proud to take on the creative brief for this year’s boat show and the new-look website.

'In the past, the site hasn’t been as enticing as it could have been,' Tim said. 'We wanted it to be more functional across the variety of platforms – desktop, laptop, smart phones and tablets – to keep up with technological advances, and we also wanted it to look sensational.'

Tim said the design and creative concept covers all elements of the aquatic lifestyle, from inflatables to superyachts, uniting them in the elegant, immersed figure bathing in the dreamscape of the turquoise sea.

'The design places emphasis on the international scope of SCIBS. It appeals to both trade and consumer markets. It’s aspirational, inviting and places SCIBS among its international peers such as Cannes, Miami or Monaco, which are significant global events.'

The Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show is again proudly sponsored by Club Marine, and will run from May 22 to 25.
