A successful weekend was had by all competitors, spectators and also the directors at the 2013 Barrie Beehag Water Ski Race over the weekend. Congratulations to all teams who finished the race from Deep Creek Marina to Torrumbarry Weir and back on Saturday 16th November.

There were a number of records broken this year, in Superclass, Mark Cranny driving Hellrazor broke the record and won outright with a time of 21.43. Elm Street came second with a time of 22.53 and Superman came third, also breaking the record, finishing with a time of 23.23.

More Mojo won 6 Litre Inboard and Sonic Boats won and broke the record for SMOC – a time of 28.52.
The engine class 200hp had 5 entries, with the first 4 boats all breaking the record. Thunderstorm towing Emma Barnes and Alyssa Long took out first place in Junior Boys and Girls – a time of 29.30. Wonderful effort for these girls! 70 MPH winner was Outraged, and 60 MPH winner was Nailed.

Half time entertainment by the Southern Waters Ski Show was a hit, crowds at the Marina were up on last year’s event, proving to be a great weekend by all.
On behalf of the Moama Water Sports Club, we would like to thank all the sponsors over the weekend, each competitor, the Judges and Volunteers who work hard to make it all happen, as well as the spectators. Without these people, we wouldn’t of had such a successful race.

Southern 80 entry forms are now available online, for the event held in Echuca on February 7th, eighth and ninth 2014.
