On the second day of the 2014 Audi Melges 20 Miami Winter Series Event No. 1, racing was just not meant to be, hosted by Coconut Grove Sailing Club, supported by Melges USA. After many attempts to handle the ever shifting wind, the Race Committee sent the fleet back to shore shortly after three-thirty in the afternoon.
Teams clearly understood that the wind refused to settle in for the quality racing guaranteed by PRO Bruce Golison and team. The Race Committee chattered on the radio all day, keeping the fleet well-informed of the breeze's every move. After shifting from 160 to 300, and back again, conditions were just not cooperating.
In an effort to counter the second day of no racing in Miami, Golison has moved up the start time to 09.00 and plans to go for four races on Sunday morning, conditions permitting.
