viagogo, the world’s largest ticket marketplace, today announced it will sponsor a Flying 18 in this season’s 18 foot skiff regattas. The agreement places viagogo at the heart of one of Australia’s most celebrated sporting events, which takes place on Sydney Harbour every summer.

viagogo's safe, secure and guaranteed platform allows people to buy and sell tickets for sports and entertainment events all over the world. The ticket marketplace, headquartered in Switzerland, offers its services in nearly 50 countries. After launching in Australia earlier this year it has partnerships with Melbourne AFL clubs Collingwood and Richmond and with 2013 NRL Premiers, the Sydney Roosters.

viagogo spokesperson Alex Levenson said: 'These skiffs are such iconic racing boats and seeing them race across Sydney Harbour is an incredible experience for locals and visitors alike. We’re very proud to be part of such a prestigious racing series, at the heart of a sport that means so much to Sydney.'

Commodore of the Australian 18 Footers League, Simon Nearn said: 'viagogo shares our mission to give people access to great sporting events and to bring fans closer to the action. We’re delighted to welcome yet another global brand to our family of sponsors.'

Skipper of the viagogo sponsored Flying 18, Alexandra South, said: 'Our mission this season is to compete with the best boats in the series, and to put on a great show for the tens of thousands that come to watch the racing. We are proud to be flying the viagogo flag and look forward to some good results'

The partnership begins this weekend and includes sponsorship, branding, marketing and hospitality rights.
