2014 ISAF World Championships - Full of action for Santander

The organization of Santander 2014 has announced the dates in which will be played the great event of Santander 2014. Santander 2014 ISAF World Championships will summon the Olympic Sailing for more than two weeks, in the waters of Santander.

From third to September 21, Santander will be the center of the Olympic sport with more than 1,000 boats fighting for the scepter to be credited as world champions.

The next September 3rd will start the great sailing event, the 'Santander 2014 ISAF World Championships', with the official opening of the Boat Park for the participating boats and where they will be ashore when not in competition.

Starting the third till 11th of September, all boats who come to Santander in search of the world title or a place for their country in the Olympics, will have some tough days of training and inscriptions; Days in which all participants will focus on finalize the inscription process and the measurement of boats and materials, and performing final practice in both the cove and the bay of Santander.

The competition will be inaugurated by the Laser class

The Categories Laser Standard and Laser Radial will be responsible for the opening of the Santander 2014 competition on Friday, September 12.

24 hours later will be the turn of the 470-male and female-, while on Sunday the RS:X come into scene -in their male and female divisions-.


The week of September 15 to September 21 promises to be exciting, with more than 1000 boats sailing through Santander waters. On Monday 15 will be the first day in which all classes -except the Laser, which have the reserve day on that day- come together in action with their qualifying events, with the classes Finn, 49er, 49er Fx and Nacra doing their stellar appearance.

Nothing more and nothing less than four days of Medal Races

The highlight of Santander 2014 will undoubtedly be the Medal Races, which will offer a great show from Thursday 18 until Sunday 21 of September.

These four days of tight competition in the Bay of Santander, in final fight for the world title, will be headlined by the Laser Class-Radial and Standard-on Thursday and The

470-male and female- on Friday.

The Medal Races to play the weekend will Name the members of the podium in the RS:X -male and female- class on Saturday, and Sunday for classes 49er, 49er RX, Nacra and Finn.
