Extreme Sailing Series - Hulls soaring and bows diving

by Sarah Branson on 6 Oct 2013 In Act 7 of the Extreme Sailing Series, the Extreme 40 fleet were braced for another day of hulls soaring and bows diving today on the Bay of Angels. The SAP Extreme Sailing Team who expertly averted a pitchpole on the first day, missed out on vital point scoring to make repairs, so headed out to the race course ready to push for further points.


The French Riviera continued to push the team to the limits physically, but with quick line starts and the intensity on the race course ramped right up, the SAP Extreme Sailing Team secured two race wins.

'Taking two firsts shows today just how competitive we are and even with a mixed set of results on the scoreboard its always great when we get a win!' Commented co-skipper Rasmus Kostner.

Pete Cumming added 'We had a mid series peak just before the breeze really began to die away and were able to deal with the tricky chop left after yesterdays challenging conditions.'

Tomorrow (Sunday October 6th), the Extreme 40 fleet go into the final day of Stadium racing, just metres from the shore on the Promenade des Anglais from 1400 CEST as the finale of Act 7 Nice. Extreme Sailing Series
