Albert Pijoan competirá con los mejores windsurfistas del mundo

Después de una primera jornada sin viento, el segundo día del Campeonato del Mundo de windsurf KIA Cold Hawaii ha sufrido también los caprichos del viento de Klitmoller lo cual provocó la frustración de muchos, pero no del joven de Barcelona, Albert Pijoan, que se ha clasificado para la competición principal.

El nuevo sistema implantado este año obliga a 12 participantes a luchar entre ellos para conseguir entrar en las 6 últimas plazas que quedan para estar dentro de estos 32 mejores windsurfistas del mundo.

Albert Pijoan, de 29 años, ganó la segunda manga de las pruebas clasificatorias y, por tanto, estará entre los 32 mejores que competirán por el título de Campeón del Mundo de windsurf. 'He volado desde Barcelona hasta aquí con mi amigo Jose Piña –fotógrafo español', contaba Albert, 'las condiciones fueron un poco complicadas pero conseguí salir del paso y hacer una ronda buena, y la verdad es que estoy muy contento'.

'No sería justo criticar este nuevo sistema, es el juego, pero la verdad es que es un poco aburrido estar esperando para el anuncio cada 15 minutos. Intentaré dar lo mejor de mi en la competición principal, esperemos que el viento mejore estos días', comentaba Albert Pijoan.

Víctor Fernández, el número dos mundial y uno de los favoritos del campeonato, ha tenido que ser muy paciente, ya que su ronda fue cancelada por segunda vez. 'Las condiciones eran mejores esta mañana, estaba preparado para la competición. Pero con estas condiciones los jueces tienen que elegir, y bueno, estoy de acuerdo con sus decisiones', reconocía Víctor tras el día de Resultados
