Thinking of a new boat in the 35-40ft range? Here's another to consider. Beneteau has proudly presented their latest release to the world, the Oceanis 38, at the Cannes Boat Show. The new model in the hugely popular Oceanis range reprises the fundamentals of the range, whether at the sail plan level, access to the sea, safety or comfort onboard.

Beneteau are promoting this boat as very versatile - either a Daysailer, Weekender or Cruiser. The concept allows for cruising at everyone’s pace. Sailing single handed, as a couple, with the family or with friends. Its very use has been redesigned to leave the owner the choice of layout.

David Beck commented 'This yachts ability to grow and adapt to its owners stage in life through the addition and subtraction of elements makes it a one of a kind. It’s another exceptional design concept by these master boat builders'.

Also on display at the show, the recently release Oceanis 55 received much attention. It is an easy yacht to enjoy, with solutions that increase its practicality of manouver, balance and performances while at the same time offering excitement, safety and comfort.

While sailing and at anchor: the swim platform that can be lowered to water level which simplifies diving in and climbing back on board, while four large sunbathing areas are an invitation to relaxation.

With spacious interiors, it is bright and cool thanks to the plentiful windows. Everything has been designed to adapt to the different needs of the day.

All in all, Beneteau has once again delivered an outstanding presentation of their yacht range at the Cannes Boat Show, particularly the new concept of the Oceanis 38. Look out for the Oceanis 38 in Australia this Summer at the Sundance Marine stand, Melbourne Summer Boat Show, January 2014.
