Red Bull Youth America's Cup- The Flipside of the Cup - Video

by Sail-World on 29 Aug 2013
American Youth Sailing Force - San Francisco SW

One of the cynical sayings of the America's Cup is that it is three years of meetings followed by a yacht race.

The Red Bull Youth America's Cup is everything it's parent is not. National teams and plenty of them. Young sailors wanting to make a reputation, not a paypacket. They sport an exuberance that isn't there any more in the veterans. No Rules experts. No Jury Hearings. No Designers and Performance Analysts.

No doubt about who has the most fun.

They also do their own PR - like this video that you'd never see out of one of the A-Teams.

Meet the San Francisco’s Youth America’s Cup Team – The Force.
