Der var torsdag royalt besøg i Middelfart af HKH Kronprins Frederik, en kollision i dagens første flight og meget skiftende vejrforhold. Samtidigt gik Nicolai Sehested og hans team direkte til semifinalerne efter at have sikret sig sejre i fem ud af seks sejladser.

'Vi er tilfredse med vores indsats indtil videre,' sagde en storsmilende Nicolai Sehested efter en lang dag på vandet. Efter dagens første flight, blev det hele sat på standby, og der blev sejlet en show-match mellem HKH Kronprins Frederik og Sehested. Den vandt de unge talenter med en bådslængde, efter Kronprinsen fik pålagt en straf og måtte på en 360’er inden målgang. Derefter gik Sehested ud og tog fem sejladser om eftermiddagen og missede kun en. 'Det bedste har været, at vi kunne holde fokus, selvom mange hev fat i os i dag, og der var meget presse på omkring sejladsen mod Kronprinsen,' mente Peter Wibroe, taktiker og storsejlsgast hos Sehested.

Kun en fra hver nation i finalen
I den anden gruppe er David Gilmour en sikker vinder, så han er dermed også videre til semifinalen. I morgen samles 2., 3. og 4. placerede fra hver af de to grupper i Open i én, for at sejle om de sidste to pladser til semifinalen. Der kan dog ifølge Notice of Race kun være en deltager fra hver nation i finalen. Derfor kan det ikke ende med en finale mellem de to danske hold Viltofte og Sehested. Viltofte tog to sejre ud af seks mulige i dag.

Melgaard fortsætter med at sejre
De kvindelige deltagere forsætter med round robins i morgen, og her ligger danske Lotte Melgaard i spidsen. Også i dag var hun den første over målstregen i alle hendes sejladser.

T-bone
Kollisionen skete i første sejlads om morgenen, hvor australske Ashlen Rooklyn fik et stort hul i stævnen efter en T-bone mod Henrique Haddad fra Brasilien. Heldigvis var det et godt stykke over vandlinjen, så en nødreparation var nok til at holde båden på banen resten af dagen. Båden bliver repareret i nat, så den er klar igen fredag Nations Cup
