A busy day at the Port Credit Boat Show Heather Robertson
The Port Credit In-Water Boat Show celebrates its 23rd year at the Port Credit Harbour Marina - August 23-25th. The only show of its kind on Lake Ontario, the Port Credit Boat Show is THE late summer boat show to attend.

Besides over 100 new and used sailboats and the numerous land displays of marine accessories and services there are a few new events for this year’s show.

Port Credit sailors, Paul and Sheryl Shard return to the InformedBoaters.com Speaker’s Tent, with tales of traveling in the Caribbean and the Med. Producers of Distant Shores – The Sailing Adventure TV Series, their seminars are chalk full of great tips, information and exciting places to cruise.

Imagine travelling to Paris and through the wine country of France aboard your own boat. That's what Paul and Sheryl who are award-winning filmmakers, sailing authors, and hosts of the Distant Shores sailing adventure TV series did and in this presentation they show you how you can do it too. They also discuss bareboat charter, hotel barge, and river cruise ship options if you want a taste of this right now!

The Shards' presentation includes route planning, preparing your boat, lock procedures, and many highlights of the voyage shown in video excerpts from their latest DVD, 'The French Canals to the Caribbean.

Wally Moran joining us for his fifth year. Wally is always well received for his in-depth knowledge of Heading South on the Intra Coastal Waterway (ICW). Wally is an Instructor at the Annapolis Cruisers' University and a Contributing Editor at SAIL Magazine. This year he adds a second talk (Saturday afternoon only) on Cruising to Cuba.

Returning this year is seminar host, Rob MacLeod of Informedboater.com. Rob will host a seminar entitled ‘Handling Larger Sailboats’ – tips and techniques to make sure your sailboat handles the way you want (and need) it to while cruising.

Marine Artist Diane Zaremba will be exhibiting some of her wonderful paintings. But she doesn’t just paint she likes to see the funny side of life. Let Diane capture you in one of her famous caricatures.

The Port Credit Boat Show has something for everyone including new boaters. Not sure if boating is for you? Start your show visit at the Welcome to the Water kiosk for new boaters. A great place to learn about how to get your license, boating courses, boating information, or even how to buy a boat!

'Every show is different. We bring back the popular events such as the Consignment Tent but each year we add something. That’s what keeps our show so popular.' stated Lori Mason, show manager.

The 23rd show is shoring up to be another great Port Credit event and another great boat show with lots of boats, great exhibitors, great, new features... in fact it’s an entire weekend of finding out why life is better with a boat.

Show hours are:

Friday August 23 10AM-7PM;
Saturday August 24 10AM – 6PM and
