Canada Summer Games
The city of Sherbrooke will be the first in the province of Quebec to host the Canada Summer Games in August 2013.
Some 4,400 athletes between 16 and 21 years of age representing all 13 Canadian provinces and territories will share the honours in 20 different disciplines. Gathering 12,000 participants, including 5,000 volunteers, this unique event will leave the communities involved with high-quality sports facilities.
A foundation to be created after the games will also support young Township athletes in achieving their goals. People from all over the Townships are pulling together to bring this special project to life.
Sailors from all 10 provinces will be competing in the Laser Standard Rig, Laser Radial, 29er and 2.4mR classes. Sailing will be hosted by Club Nautique du Petit Lac Magog with support from Sail Canada and the Fédération de Voile du Québec over eight days from August 1st to 8th 2013.
